Our History
ICA . . . A History of Building Relationships
Greg Junge started in 1971 as an employee and eventually became vice president of R. W. Murray, a national contracting company. In 1981, he purchased the Illinois division and named it Itasca Construction Associates. At that time, the company worked exclusively for a single large real estate developer.
As chairman, Junge led the company's transition to a multiple-client, design-build construction firm. The company focused on building long-term customer relationships that resulted in growth through referrals and repeat business. Today, Itasca Construction Associates continues to work with many of the same people who worked with Junge from 1971.
The Right Size for Your Needs
Itasca Construction Associates is big enough to easily handle your largest or most complex projects. But it's not so big that you need to worry about your project getting handed off to junior staff; every project has partner involvement and professional project management, and most have on-site supervision.
Since its inception, ICA has completed thousands of projects and constructed more than 250 buildings totaling 20 million square feet of space. Its flat organizational structure encourages communication between clients and staff.
Green Construction / Sustainable Building Design Practices
A focus on efficiency and functionality has driven our design and construction efforts for the entire history of our firm. Lately, sustainable design, LEED certification and green building practices have been widely promoted. We are excited about these concepts. Practical design that provides the functionality the owner needs as efficiently as possible at a reasonable rate of return is not new to ICA. We believe life cycle building costs should be considered during initial building design. We've been practicing this for a long time. We look forward to providing our customers with the background information and expertise to make well-informed decisions regarding the pursuit of LEED certification.
Itasca Construction has offices in Chicago, IL, Tampa, and Boca Raton, FL, and Atlanta, GA.
